My name is Joe Boehm. I teach biology and serve as science department chair at Flowing Wells High School.
I have been working with the RoboKnights for four years now, and continue to find it incredibly valuable and rewarding.
Before coming to education I worked in the construction industry for 15 years. My experiences in the workplace and the classroom convince me that FRC is a worthy and exciting program for bringing appropriate challenges to students. Not just technical problem solving, but rewarding challenges in time management, budgeting, social skills, and team work.
The term “hands on” gets used a lot in education, but the students of Team 1798 have a very authentic experience in this regard, and they have the aluminum shavings to prove it.
The students and mentors of the RoboKnights form a fantastic and diverse team, and I am pleased to be a part of it.
